Children earn bikes by reading
Hope Lodge No. 175 AF & AM recently made their Books for Bikes presentations to the HLV and Belle Plaine second grade classes.
This is the first year that Hope Lodge has participated in this program.
Many area lodges participate with their schools to help promote reading. Each student reads a certain amount of minutes and keeps a log of the time.
The more they read, the greater the chance that they might win a bicycle.
Hope Lodge presented a bicycle and helmet to each of the two second grade classes in each school.
Winners of bikes in Belle Plaine were Annalise Kaplan and Landon Taschek.
In HLV, Alyvia Leitch and Brylee Blood won the bikes.
