Christmas comes to North English

NORTH ENGLISH — Businesses and organizations have planned citywide Christmas activities for Saturday, Dec. 2.
English Valleys History Center will open with coffee and conversation at 7 a.m. Visitors can view the new Veterans Room, register for a door prize and relax with treats to celebrate the holidays. The Center is upon until 3 p.m.
From 9-10 a.m., Children can have breakfast with Santa at Knoll Ridge. Santa’s visit is sponsored by the Community Club.
Judging for Friday evening’s lighting contest will take place. A Christmas Décor Auction will end at 11 a.m. Winners should pick up their items by noon.
From 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., a holiday vendor and craft fair will be set up at the English Valleys Junior-Senior High School.
From 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Glaze the Galaxy will have free cookie decorating, door prizes and special deals on ceramics.
NWA Goat Milk Soap will offer Christmas baskets for sale from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and English Valleys Insurance will celebrate the season from 9 a.m. to noon.
Residents are invited to meet the new attorneys at Elwood, Elwood and Buchanan Law Office from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Grant Taylor and Josh Kraushaar have joined the legal team.
From 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., SevenK plans to have coffee and hot chocolate specials as well as a gift basket giveaway. The Grinch will make an appearance.
Salt and Light Market will feature specials and premade gift packages from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Main Street Pub will have a Bloody Mary and Mimosa bar starting at 9 a.m.
The English Valleys History Center is sponsoring a Christmas Home Tour of the historic home of Ken and Barbara Brown at 109 S. Main St. The tour begins at 11 a.m. and runs through 3 p.m. Admission is free, but donations will be accepted.
The Community Center plans to open from 1-4:30 p.m. for warmth and refreshments. It will have free hot chocolate, hot cider and trail mixes. Cookies will be available for purchase.
Children can create a free, edible craft.
From 1-4 p.m., Garcia Carpet will have a storewide sale and refreshments.
A soup and loaded baked potato supper will be served from 4:30-7 p.m. at the community center for a freewill donation.
