Clayton files for Poweshiek County Supervisor

MONTEZUMA — John Clayton announced Monday that he has filed candidate eligibility documents for county supervisor at the Poweshiek County Courthouse in Montezuma.

Clayton is not affiliated with any political party and will have none listed on the ballot next to his name, he said in a news release.

“Poweshiek County faces climate challenges, which is why I'm running. I am committed to serving the people of Poweshiek County.”

Clayton, who is 71, says he will serve only one term. "I'm running for election to do good things for Poweshiek County,“ Clayton said in the news release.

To secure a promising future, Clayton will strive for climate action that saves money on homeowners' energy bills, he said.
