TIFFIN — Well, there’s not much to say about this one.
The Clear Creek Amana boys’ basketball team got up big early Friday night and never looked back, defeating Williamsburg 77-30.
The Raiders were down three starters and hope to get more healthy as the season rolls into the new year.
The key for the Clippers early lead was an effective press that forced the Raiders into turnovers. Steals turned into easy baskets.
After one, the Clippers led 27-4.
Dylan Weisskopf scored five straight to start the second for the Raiders.
A balanced scoring attack pushed the Clippers lead to 45-16 at half.
The lead built slowly throughout the second half until late in the fourth when both benches were cleared for backups.
Weisskopf ended the night in double figures for the Raiders with 12. Grady Wetjen had six, and P.J. Carey had five.
Five different Clippers scored between eight and 11 points on the night, led by Robert Meade.
The Raiders played in Washington Saturday, losing a tightly contested battle 53-51 before heading into the holiday break.
Coming out of the new year, the Raiders begin with a home game against Fort Madison Jan. 4.
