MARENGO — A collision at U.S. Highway 6 and Eastern Avenue last week resulted in possible injuries for a Marengo man.
According to Marengo Police, Phillip Anthony Shipman Jr., 41, of Davenport, driving a 1999 Kenworth tractor trailer turned west onto Highway 6 from M Avenue about 8:34 a.m. Thursday, July 24.
Keaton Patrick Moore, 21, of Marengo, was traveling west on Highway 6 in a 2006 Ford truck and struck the Kenworth, disabling both vehicles.
Shipman, who had never driven in this area before, said he thought the intersection was a four-way stop, according to the accident report.
Moore complained of head pain and was taken by a co-worker to Compass Memorial Healthcare emergency room.
Shipman was cited for failure to yield. A stop sign and barrel were destroyed in the crash, according to the police report.
