Millersburg Methodist Church ice cream social
The Millersburg Methodist Church will host at ice cream social from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 2, at the Millersburg City Hall. The menu includes ice cream, sandwiches, chips, drinks and desserts for a freewill donation. Sugar-free food and carryouts are available.
Chapter CN P.E.O. to meet
P.E.O. Chapter CN will meet Tuesday, Aug. 8, at 7 p.m. at the Williamsburg Public Library with Carol Montz and Nancy Evans as co-hostesses. Members are asked to invite an inactive member and bring a dish to share.
Butler’s Bunch/Sharing for Hope
Butler’s Bunch Sharing for Hope cancer support group will meet at 6:30 p.m., Wednesday, Aug. 9 in the executive boardroom at Compass Memorial Healthcare, Marengo.
The group welcomes those being treated for cancer, who have had cancer, have been or are caregivers, are survivors, including school-age students, or those touched by cancer. Those who attend may share experiences as a patient, caregiver or simply listen.
CMH offers participants a virtual option. To obtain information about how to join the group via the web or for more information in general, contact Mary Warwick at 319-642-8054. CMH’s Elle Krakow, LMSW hosts and facilitates the group at CMH.
Bike Ride Iowa County
Bike Ride of Iowa County will take place Saturday, Aug. 12. The free 28-mile ride takes cyclists through the Amana Colonies and to Marengo and back. Registration will start at 9 a.m. the day of the ride at the Brau Haus, Amana. Riders who get their passports stamped at all the BRIC stops will be entered to win a $100 Amana Colonies gift certificate. Kirkwood Kick Off Night
Kirkwood Kick Off Night will be held Tuesday, Aug. 15, from 5-6:30 p.m. at the Kirkwood Iowa County Center, 200 West Street, Williamsburg. The event will include refreshments and door prizes, as well as an opportunity to learn about the many programs offered at the center including College Credit in High School, Workplace Learning Connection, High School Completion, Continuing Education, IowaWorks, main campus online programs and more.
This will take place before the Fall Activities Kick Off Night at Williamsburg Jr./Sr. High School and is open to all surrounding area students, prospective students, residents and stakeholders.
Hats and More
Hats and More will meet at Barn Wired, Sigourney, on Aug. 17 for lunch at 11 a.m. Hostesses will be Jean Coffman, Sandra Aldrich and Kay Grove.
Paddle the Iowa Aug. 19
The third annual Paddle the Iowa will be held Aug. 19 from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. The nine-mile canoe route begins in South Amana and ends in Homestead. Victor American Legion dinner
The Victor American Legion will serve a pulled pork or brisket meal Saturday, Aug. 19, from 4 to 7 p.m. Price is $10 per plate, with takeout available and the bar will be open. Proceeds will benefit the solar project.
Victor blood drive
A LifeServe blood drive will be held in Victor on Tuesday, Aug. 22, from 1 to 5:55 p.m. at the American Legion Hall, 3rd & Main Streets.

Belle Plaine firemen’s dance
The 72nd annual firemen’s dance will be held Friday, Aug. 4, in Franklin Park, Belle Plaine. Entertainment runs from 8 p.m. to midnight with music by Blake Jack and South 35.
Tickets are $10 at the door; ages 12 and under are free. This is an outdoor event and there are tables and seating available but feel free to bring your own chairs. Door prize tickets will be available as well throughout the evening. All proceeds go toward the purchase of new gear and equipment for the department. The average cost of a set of bunker gear, per person, ranges from $3,000 to $4,000 and SCBA's run $7,000 to $9,000 a piece.
Hooligans car show
The fourth annual Hooligans car show to benefit the Keystone Fire Department will be held Aug. 6, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Main Street in Keystone. All years of cars, trucks and motorcycles are invited. Entry fee is $15 and awards are at 2 p.m. Event will be held rain or shine.
There will be raffles, a 50/50 drawing and the fire department will serve breakfast from 8 to 11 a.m. and lunch from noon to 2 p.m.
