Butler’s Bunch/Sharing for Hope
Butler’s Bunch Sharing for Hope cancer support group will meet at 6:30 p.m., Wednesday, Aug. 9 in the executive boardroom at Compass Memorial Healthcare, Marengo.
The group welcomes those being treated for cancer, who have had cancer, have been or are caregivers, are survivors, including school-age students, or those touched by cancer. Those who attend may share experiences as a patient, caregiver or simply listen.
CMH offers participants a virtual option. To obtain information about how to join the group via the web or for more information in general, contact Mary Warwick at 319-642-8054. CMH’s Elle Krakow, LMSW hosts and facilitates the group at CMH.
Bike Ride Iowa County
Bike Ride of Iowa County will take place Saturday, Aug. 12. The free 28-mile ride takes cyclists through the Amana Colonies and to Marengo and back. Registration will start at 9 a.m. the day of the ride at the Brau Haus, Amana. Riders who get their passports stamped at all the BRIC stops will be entered to win a $100 Amana Colonies gift certificate. Kirkwood Kick Off Night
Kirkwood Kick Off Night will be held Tuesday, Aug. 15, from 5-6:30 p.m. at the Kirkwood Iowa County Center, 200 West Street, Williamsburg. The event will include refreshments and door prizes, as well as an opportunity to learn about the many programs offered at the center including College Credit in High School, Workplace Learning Connection, High School Completion, Continuing Education, IowaWorks, main campus online programs and more.
This will take place before the Fall Activities Kick Off Night at Williamsburg Jr./Sr. High School and is open to all surrounding area students, prospective students, residents and stakeholders.
Iowa County SWCD
The Iowa County SWCD will hold its monthly meeting Aug. 15 at the USDA building, 435 N. Highland St., Williamsburg, at 8 a.m. Please call ahead if special accommodations are needed, (319) 668-2359 ext. 300.
The Iowa County SWCD is conducting their monthly meetings on the same schedule via conference calls for the time being. The meetings are still open to the public. If interested in attending they can email debra.conrad@ia.nacdnet.net for the conference call information.
Hats and More
Hats and More will meet at Barn Wired, Sigourney, on Aug. 17 for lunch at 11 a.m. Hostesses will be Jean Coffman, Sandra Aldrich and Kay Grove.
Victor American Legion dinner
The Victor American Legion will serve a pulled pork or brisket meal Saturday, Aug. 19, from 4 to 7 p.m. Price is $10 per plate, with takeout available and the bar will be open. Proceeds will benefit the solar project.
Victor blood drive
A LifeServe blood drive will be held in Victor on Tuesday, Aug. 22, from 1 to 5:55 p.m. at the American Legion Hall, 3rd & Main Streets.

Williamsburg Lego Club
The Williamsburg Public Library will hold its early-out Lego club from 1 to 2:45 p.m. on the following dates:
First and second grade: Sept. 27, Oct. 25, Dec. 13, Jan. 24, Feb. 28 and April 10.
Third through sixth grade will meet: Oct. 11, Nov. 8, Jan. 10, Feb. 14, March 27 and April 24.
Sign-up is required and sessions are limited to 20 participants. Children are required to stay the full session unless picked up by a guardian. Sign-up is open now at the library.
Community hymn sing
Pleasant Grove Grace Brethren Church will host a community hymn sing Aug. 27 at 6 p.m. Those attending are invited to share a piece of special music or a favorite reading. Everyone is also invited to bring along a favorite finger food snack item to share during the fellowship time.

Marengo: second and fourth Saturdays, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., north park pavilion.
North English: every Saturday, 8 to 11 a.m., south side of Freeman Foods.
Williamsburg: every Friday, 4 to 6 p.m. on the town square; every third Friday is a special event pop up, 4 to 7 p.m.

Tractorcade
The Keystone Turners tractorcade will be held Saturday, Aug. 19. Registration is from 8 to 9:45 a.m. and riders depart from the Turner Hall at 10 a.m. Entry fee is $40 and rider fee is $20.
The route is: Keystone, Van Horne, Newhall (lunch break), Shellsburg, Benton County Fairgrounds in Vinton (45-Sminute break) and back to Keystone. For more information, contact Nick Rinderknecht, Landon Lohf or Brad Sievers.
