Construction project alters parking
GRINNELL — UnityPoint Health-Grinnell Regional Medical Center hospital and clinics asks patients and visitors to access hospital and clinic entrances from the south side of campus from Third Avenue, due to road construction on Fourth Avenue on the north side of the GRMC campus in Grinnell.
UnityPoint is prioritizing patient and visitor parking to keep guests as near to the available entrances as possible. The road project is expected to continue throughout the summer.
Williamsburg Library loans seeds
WILLIAMSBURG — When planting a garden, don’t forget that Williamsburg Public Library has a seed library. Stop by to take some seeds for planting this year.

Iowa author to sign books
Deborah Hufford will sign books at Williamsburg Public Library at 6 p.m. Wednesday, May 22. Her debut novel, “Blood to Rubies,” was named Book of the Year 2023 by American Writing Awards.

Central College recognizes students
PELLA — Two area students were among 36 recently honored by Central College of Pella.
Katelyn Hofmaster of North English and Grant Kruse of Oxford were named to the 2024 National Society of Leadership and Success.
Grinnell woman earns degree
MANKATO, Minn.- Minnesota State University, Mankato awarded 2,373 degrees to 2,133 students May 3-4 in Taylor Center's Bresnan Arena on the Minnesota State Mankato campus.
Maylee Lai, of Grinnell, graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in biology during that weekend.
Forbes receives grant
Phil Forbes, with the Kalona Regenerative Network in Wellman, was awarded $50,000 for the project "Ecological Outcome Verification: Could it be the Incentive that Catalyzes Scalable Change Across Midwestern Dairy Farms?"
Nonprofit, Kalona Regenerative Network supports a network of predominantly Amish dairy producers throughout the Midwestern United States and is catalyzing sustainability in the dairy industry by offering an innovative premium market pathway, Ecological Outcome Verification, according to a news release.
This grant was awarded as part of NCR-SARE's 2024 Partnership Grant Program which fosters cooperation between agriculture professionals and small groups of farmers and ranchers to catalyze on-farm research, demonstration, and education activities related to sustainable agriculture.
