Feb. 24, 2024 4:21 pm
The Williamsburg Blackout Dancers hosted Poms Night 2024 last Friday with performances from a variety of dancers. Over 25 dances were featured including guest appearances from the Lone Tree Dance Team, Melissa’s Dance Studio, and tiny dancers from kindergarten through sixth grades.
The stars of the night, however, were the Blackout Dancers themselves, showcasing eight solo and seven group dances, plus joint performances with moms, dads and even some coeds to close the night.
The Blackout Dancers include seniors Kayden Dermody, Olivia Kelting, Macey Kent, Adeline Lillis, Gabriella Rippel and Elizabeth Stohlmann.
Team juniors are Mia Becker, Katie Driscoll, Sara Pieroni, and Gwen Yearian.
Sophomore dancers are Kendall Jepson and Payton Scott. Freshman members are Rubianne Allison, Kaylin Becker, Livia McArtor and Jessica Meyer. The team is coached by Kathryn Hafner and assistant coach Cassandra Adamson.
The Dancers performed in several competitions this season and brought home numerous awards and honors.
Five dancers made the All Iowa Honor Dance Team that will preform at the Girl’s State Basketball Tournament. Mia Becker, Olivia Kelting, Macey Kent, Payton Scott and Elizabeth Stohlmann will represent Williamsburg in Des Moines next week.
