Deadline nears for Tree of Lights honorees

MARENGO — Compass Memorial Healthcare will light up its Holiday Tree of Lights on the southeast corner of the Marengo square at 7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 13, but names of people to be honored with the lights are due by Nov. 6.
Residents may purchase white lights in memory of loved ones or blue lights in honor of family members of friends. Each light costs $10. The event is a fundraiser for Compass Memorial Foundation and will pay for health care needs for the hospital and patients, the Foundation says.
Forms for lights may be downloaded from the Compass Memorial Healthcare Facbook page and should be completed and mailed with payment to CMH Foundation at 300 W. May St., Marengo, IA 52301.
The tree will remain lit through the holiday season.
