Des Moines woman dies in Iowa County accident

MILLERSBURG — Jeanne Kashindi, 53, of Des Moines, died Monday, Oct. 15, in a one-vehicle accident near Millersburg.
Rachel Happy, 18, of Des Moines, was injured in the accident and was taken by Iowa County Ambulance to the University of Iowa Hospital in Iowa City.
According to the Iowa State Patrol, Kashindi was driving a 2012 Kia Sportage east on F52 Trail, failed to stop at the intersection with H Avenue and entered a downhill driveway into a county gravel storage area.
The vehicle struck broken concrete pieces before landing on the driver’s side of the car.
Both Kashindi and Happy were wearing seat belts.
The accident is under investigation.
