English Valleys falls 48-6

MIDLAND — After opening the season with a big win at home over Calamus-Wheatland, the English Valleys football team traveled to Midland and lost, 48-6.
The Eagles (1-0) accumulated 333 yards of total offense, led by sophomore quarterback Anthony Harrington and senior running back Seth Bixler.
Harrington was 7-of-8 passing for 103 yards and two touchdowns, and he rushed eight times for 65 yards and one score.
Bixler had 16 rushes for 160 yards and two TD's, including a 70-yard breakaway, and he caught one pass or 24 yards and another score.
Midland led 32-0 after one quarter and 40-0 at halftime.
Individual and team statistics for the Bears were unavailable at press time.
EV (1-1) plays its second straight road game this week against HLV (0-2), and returns home Sept. 8 to face Iowa Valley.
