EV girls open regionals with win

NORTH ENGLISH — English Valleys (14-8) opened Class 1A regional play with a 50-37 win over Keota Thursday in North English.

Kennedy Axmear had 20 points and seven rebounds against the Eagles.

Next up was a trip to Holy Trinity (19-2) Tuesday, Feb. 13.

Early last week EV beat Pekin, 48-18, at home to close the regular season. Axmear had a double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds.
