Dan Gable, 1972 Olympic Champion wrestler and former University of Iowa wrestling coach, will speak at the Iowa Valley High School auditorium in Marengo at 2:30 p.m. This event is open to the public and is free of charge.
Williamsburg Public Library is partnering with Doc’s Taproom for Karaoke Night from 7-9 p.m. Pick a song from the catalog of songs, grab a microphone and sing your heart out at Doc’s.
Thursday, Dec. 21
The Amana Library will host an ImpactLife Blood Drive from 1:30-6 p.m. in the donor bus. The drive will take place at the Amana Library/Elementary parking lot, 3023 220th Trail in Middle Amana. Donors will receive gift cards or donations to area food bands as a thank you for donating blood. Donors must be at least 17 years old, must weigh more than 110 pounds and must and possess a photo ID to donate. Donors should eat and hydrate before donating. Walk-ins are accepted. Historic Champion Hill Church in North English will host its traditional Christmas Eve service at 4 p.m. The sixth generation of three different families will perform, including the Frazier family on the steel drums, flute and viola music. The church is located at 3132 TT Ave. in rural North English. Refreshments will be served following the service.
Marengo Community Development will present Candlelight Lane from 5-11 p.m. on West Hilton Street from Western Avenue to Cherry Avenue. The Back Porch Flowers, Sips and Gifts is sponsoring the event.
