Wednesday, April 3
The Heart of Iowa Dems begin a four-part weekly Zoom series on Wednesdays in April at 7 p.m. Each week will highlight the candidates from one of the Iowa Congressional Districts. The first event will feature Ryan Melton, candidate for Congressional District 4, in conversation with Rep JD Scholten (Woodbury County). Register for the Zoom call at heartofiowadems.com/register.
Thursday, April 4
Senior Life Solutions will host an open house at 300 May St., Suite B from 1-3 p.m. Senior Life Solutions is a group therapy program for senior citizens provided by Compass Memorial Healthcare.
The Poweshiek County Historical and Genealogical Society will meet at 1:30 p.m. at the Carnegie building, 200 S. Third St. in Montezuma. The program will feature Jim Foels who will speak about Camp Courageous. The public is welcome. A handicap entrance is on the south side of the building.
Saturday, April 6
Williamsburg Community School District will allow adults to test drive a school bus around the high school parking lot between 8-10 a.m. The District hopes to interest people in the profession by letting them experience the job first hand and talk to current drivers. A valid driver’s license is required for the test drive, but a CDL is not.
The Williamsburg music department presents Dessert Cabaret at 1 p.m. and again at 6 p.m. at the high school auditorium. A dessert reception will follow each performance. Tickets are $12 online at Williamsburg.ludus.com or $15 at the door.
Tuesday, April 9
P.E.O. Chapter CN will meet at 7 p.m. at the Williamsburg Public Library. Carolyn Rathjen and Bethany Jessop will serve as co-hostesses. Erin Sleeuwenhoek will present a program about studying abroad in Europe.
Wednesday, April 10
Butler’s Bunch Sharing for Hope cancer support group will meet at 6:30 p.m. in the executive boardroom of Compass Memorial Healthcare in Marengo. To join the group virtually, contact Mary Warwick at 319-642-8068.
