Wednesday, July 17
Join a guest reader for Story Time at the city park in Williamsburg at 10:30 a.m. Following story time, children can help water the library’s gardens with the Iowa County Master Gardeners.
Cook the Book will meet from noon to 1:15 p.m. in the lower-level meeting room at Williamsburg Public Library. Swing by the Williamsburg Public Library, pick a recipe from the featured cookbook, prepare your dish and bring it to share with the group. The Amana Community Library will present the Iowa Raptor Project at 10 a.m. as part of its summer reading program. The library is located in Middle Amana behind the elementary school.
Open class judging will take place at the Keokuk County Fair. The 4-H and Clover Kids dog and obedience show, 4-H and FFA rabbit and poultry show, ax throwing and the adult bags tournament are also scheduled.
Thursday, July 18
The Johnny Burgin Band from Chicago and California is scheduled for Grinnell Art Council’s Thursday Music in the Park on the Central Park stage at 7 p.m. The band plays coast-to-coast Chicago blues. Johnny Burgin has won numerous accolades, tours internationally and hosts the No Border Blues podcast.
The 4-H and FFA sheep show will take place at the Keokuk County Fair along with the meat goat show, the llama show and Bingo. Awards will be given for the clothing style show and the Bill Riley Talent Show. The fair queen contest will take place, and Friends of the Fair and 4-H will host a flower planter auction.
Friday, July 19
The 4-H and FFA swine show, the 4-H, FFA and Clover Kids bottle and bucket calf, goat and lamb shows will take place at the Keokuk County Fair. Friday’s schedule also includes Bingo and a look-alike contest. Tyler Richton and the High Bank Boys will perform.
Saturday, July 20
The 4-H and FFA cattle show, carnival games, Bingo and figure eight races will take place at the Keokuk County Fair.
Tuesday, July 23
The Amana Community Library will host a presentation from Iowa County Naturalist Mary Blair at 10 a.m. as part of its summer reading program. The library is located in Middle Amana behind the elementary school.
