Friends of Marengo Haunted Barn will show the movie “The Goonies” in Marengo City Park at 8 p.m. Local food vendors and food trucks will sell food from 5-8 p.m. Bring lawn chairs and blankets for seating.
Thursday, Aug. 1
Poweshiek County Historical and Genealogical Society will meet at 1:30 p.m. in the Carnegie building located at 200 South Third Street, Montezuma, The public is welcome, and refreshments will be served.
Iowa County Pioneer Heritage Museum is open noon to 4 p.m. The museum is located at 675 E. South St. in Marengo.

Saturday, Aug. 3
Iowa Lake Nature Center, 2550 G Ave in Ladora, will be open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The day’s theme is turtles. A program will begin at 1 p.m.
Tuesday, Aug. 6
The Williamsburg First Responders will host Williamsburg’s second annual National Night Out event from 5:30-7:30 p.m. on the square in Williamsburg. Area businesses and organizations will provide games, activities and food. National Night Out is a national event to enhance the relationship between neighborhoods and law enforcement and promote a sense of community.
Marengo Police Department will sponsor National Night Out in Marengo City Park from 6-7:30 p.m.
Wednesday, Aug. 7
Millersburg United Methodist Church will host an ice cream social from 4:30-6:30 p.m. at Millersburg City Hall. Ice cream, sandwiches, chips, desserts and drink will be served for a freewill donation. Sugar-free ice cream and carryout options are available.
