Millersburg United Methodist Church will host an ice cream social from 4:30-6:30 p.m. at Millersburg City Hall. Ice cream, sandwiches, chips, desserts and drink will be served for a freewill donation. Sugar-free ice cream and carry-out options are available.

Saturday, Aug. 10

Local artisans and artists will exhibit and sell their work during the Amana Arts Guild Summer Festival of Arts from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. at the market barn in Amana. Pop-up food vendors, hands-on art for children and craft demonstrations will be part of the celebration.

The Iowa Valley Community School District Foundation will host its annual golf tournament at the Marengo golf course. All funds raised directly benefit the students and staff at Iowa Valley schools. To register to golf, email Jillissa Chvala at jchavala@ivcsd.org. The tournament includes a raffle with prizes such as a patio furniture set, LP gas fire pit and a Webber gas grill. Raffle tickets are available from Foundation board members or at the Marengo Bank.

The 36th annual Hit the Bricks race in Williamsburg will begin at 8 a.m. The 5k, 10k and 1k fun run will all start and finish at Williamsburg High School. Registration costs $20 ($25 online). Race day registration will be open at 7 a.m. Entry forms can be mailed or dropped off at Williamsburg High School. The race serves as an annual fundraiser for the Williamsburg cross-country program.

Iowa Lake Nature Center, 2550 G Ave in Ladora, will be open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The day’s theme is weather. A program will begin at 1 p.m.

Butler’s Bunch Sharing for Hope, a cancer support group, will meet at 6:30 p.m. in the executive boardroom of Compass Memorial Healthcare in Marengo.
