Wednesday, Sept. 11
The Benton County Community Foundation will host a public grant workshop to discuss the 2024 grant cycle. Set for 6 p.m. at Blairstown City Hall, the workshop will cover the grant guidelines, budget template and application and will provide grant writing tips. Individuals, especially those interested in applying for a 2024 grant, are encouraged to attend the workshop and should register to attend at cfneia.org/news/events/benton-workshop-24. The 2024 FCCF application period opens September 1. Applications must be submitted by 5 p.m. Oct. 15.
Butler’s Bunch Sharing for Hope support group will meet at 6:30 p.m. in the executive boardroom of Compass Memorial Healthcare in Marengo. The group welcomes people who are being treated for cancer, who have had cancer, have been or are caregivers, are survivors or who have been touched by cancer. Meetings are informal. Those in attendance may share experiences or simply listen.

Victor Public Library will host a sidewalk sale from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Among items for sale will be books, DVDs, puzzles and old, wooden children’s folding chairs. All items will be sold for a donation.

Friends of the Marengo Public Library presents Morbid Curiosities: An Evening with Edgar Allan Poe at 12:30 p.m. at Marengo Public Library. Local Storyteller, Darrin Crow, will become Edgar Allan Poe for one afternoon to talk about his life and share his best stories and poetry, including “The Masque of the Red Death,” “The Raven” and “The telltale Heart.”
