Anne Harris, president of Grinnell College, will deliver the final Bucket Course lecture of the fall from 10-11:30 a.m. Harris will present “The Middle Ages Today: how medieval culture continues to move the modern imagination” in the Caulkins Room of the Drake Community Library.

Belle Plaine Specialty Care will host Bingo with Care Initiatives Hospice at 2 p.m.
Benton Community High School in Van Horne will present the musical “Once Upon a Mattress” at 7 p.m.

Brooklyn Opera House hosts Victor Trevino Jr., the 2022 World Champion Elvis impersonator in a dinner show at 7 p.m. Tickets are $55 in advance, $60 after Oct. 28. St Michael’s Catholic Church in Belle Plaine will have a turkey and ham dinner and raffles from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. The cost of the meal is $15 per person. Carryout is available. Advance tickets may be purchased at East Side Body Shop (319-434-6362) and Grieder Standard (319-444-2945) in Belle Plaine, or at the church on the day of the dinner.

The monthly meeting of the North English Public Library board of trustees will be Monday, Nov. 6 at 5:30 p.m. rather than Nov. 13. The meeting will take place at the North English Public Library.
Tuesday, Nov. 7
Polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. for Iowa’s city and school elections. Visit sos.iowa.gov or contact your local county auditor if you have questions about your polling location.
Wednesday, Nov. 8
The Williamsburg Public Library will hold its early-out Lego club from 1 to 2:45 p.m. for third through sixth grades. Sign-up is required and sessions are limited to 20 participants. Children are required to stay the full session unless picked up by a guardian. Contact the library to sign up.
Butler’s Bunch Sharing for Hope will meet at 6:30 p.m. in the executive boardroom at Compass Memorial Healthcare in Marengo. St. Patrick’s Parish Center, 957 Western Ave. in Marengo, hosts a spaghetti supper from 4-6 p.m. The menu consists of spaghetti and meatballs, garlic bread, salad and a dessert. Dine-in seating is limited. Carryout is available. Use the back parking lot for one-way, single-file line for pickup. Tickets are $12 and are available at the door in advance at Marengo Senior Dining. Altar & Rosary raffle tickets will be available there as well.

Hats and more will meet at Pizza Haus in Williamsburg at 11:15 a.m. The meeting will be hosted by Karla Lee and Betty Jane Woodward.
Friday, Nov. 17
A one-of-a-kind experience awaits visitors to Williamsburg Area Chamber of Commerce’s Night on the Square from 5-8 p.m. Highlighting local shops and restaurants, the evening gives non-retail businesses a chance to open their doors to meet and greet the community.
