The Amana Library will host an ImpactLife Blood Drive from 1:30 -6:30 p.m. in the Amana Elementary cafeteria, 3023 220th Trail in Middle Amana. Each donor will receive a gift card. Donors must be at least 17 years old, weigh more than 110 pounds and show a photo ID. Donors should eat and hydrate before donating. Walk-ins are accepted. Appointments are preferred. The Williamsburg Public Library will host a special evening with Iowa author Roberta Hartling Gates at 6:30 p.m. The event will take place in the library’s cozy fireplace area. Gates will discuss her book, “Number 12 Rue Sainte-Catherine and Other Stories.”
KIND Care, in Williamsburg, will host a Halloween event to bring attention to afterschool programs. From 6:30-7:30 p.m. children can participate in trunk-or-treat, visit a haunted hallway and take a food challenge at the barf buffet. The event will take place at 802 Franklin St. in Williamsburg.

Amana Performing Arts Center will host a free Halloween party with Winifred & the UNDEADS at 7 p.m. Winifred and the UNDEADS will sing favorite classic rock and blues and Fork in the Road will perform. Cherie the Great will tell fortunes, and Regan's Face Painting will make everyone look spooky. A Halloween costume contest begins at 8 p.m. Prizes will be awarded. The Amana Performing Arts Center, 39 38th Ave. in Amana. The event is sponsored by Ox Yoke Inn.

Brooklyn Opera House hosts An Elvis Tribute Show by Jimmy Holmes at 7 p.m. A dinner precedes the show at 5 p.m. Tickets are available at brooklynoperahouse.com. The Opera House is located at 115 Jackson St. in Brooklyn.
Iowa Author Charlotte Gunnufson will be reading from her books “Halloween Hustle” and “Dream Submarine” at the Van Horne Public Library at 9:30 a.m. There will be crafts and songs, and the author will also have her books available for purchase.
Sunday, Oct. 27
Brooklyn Opera House hosts Jimmy Holmes in an Elvis tribute at 3 p.m. Tickets are available at brooklynoperahouse.com. The Opera House is located at 115 Jackson St. in Brooklyn.
Linda Betsinger McCann, an author of non-fiction Iowa history, will speak at English Valleys History Center at 2 p.m. She’ll discuss her book “Rosie the Riveter in Iowa.” She will have copies of all her books available for purchase.
Pleasant Grove Grace Brethren Church will host a Community Hymn Sing at 6 p.m. Anyone who wishes to may perform a piece of music or a favorite reading. Everyone should bring a favorite finger food snack item to share during the fellowship time which will follow.
Belle Plaine’s Halloween Fest will take place from 3-5 p.m. on the city’s Mainstreet between the Belle Plaine Museum and the Belle Plaine Library. The event includes games, a petting zoo and a pumpkin decorating and carving contest. Competitors should bring their own pumpkins already carved and decorated.
