The Poweshiek County Historical and Genealogical Society meet at 1:30 p.m. in the Carnegie building at 200 South Third Street in Montezuma. The program, "Seven Steps to Moonshine," will be presented by the Tennessee Hillbilly, Junior Sharp. The public is invited. Refreshments will be served.
Grinnell High School Curtain Club and Thespians will present “You Can’t Take it With You” at 7 p.m. in the school auditorium. Tickets are $8 in advance by using scanning the bar code on production flyers or $10 at the door.
Saturday, Nov. 9
TheatreMidwest brings “The Gull,” by Zachary Cohnl to The Amana Performing Arts Center Saturday at 7 p.m. The play is an adaptation of Anton Chekhov’s 1896 play “The Seagull,” reconfigured as a tour-de-force undertaking for one actor. Tickets are $15 for adults, $5 for students using the promo code STUDENT. The Amana Performing Arts Center, 39 38th Ave. in Amana.

Amana Heritage Museum will host the Second Edition of Altes und Neues at 6 p.m. AHS Interns Jackson Kleinmeyer and Cooper Daugherty will join local researcher R.C. Eichacker to enlighten residents on a number of topics related to their current projects. AHS volunteer R.C. will share his research on Amana people who served in the Navy, Marines, and Coast Guard. Butler’s Bunch Sharing for Hope cancer support group will meet in a new location. During construction at Compass Memorial Healthcare, Butler’s Bunch will meet in the education room, down main hallway to lobby and to the right before provider’s photos. Butler’s Bunch will meet at 6:30 p.m. The group welcomes cancer survivors, anyone who is being treated for cancer, has had cancer or has been or is a caregiver.
