Friends of the Marengo Public Library will host RiverBend Bronze Handbell Ensemble at 12:30 p.m. at the library. RiverBend Bronze is a handbell ensemble from the Quad Cities. The ensemble will play Christmas music and talk about the history of handbells. The library is located at 235 E. Hilton in Marengo.
The Keokuk County Historical Society is open Wednesdays and Thursdays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. except for the weeks of Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year’s. Arrangements for visiting other days can be arranged by calling 641-622-3005 and leaving a message.
Friday, Nov. 22
Today is the deadline to reserve a Thanksgiving meal from Amana Church in Amana. The Thanksgiving dinner will take place at noon Thursday, Nov. 28 in the Fellowship Hall on the east side of the church. The doors open at 11:30 a.m. for dine-in seating. Dueling Pianos comes to Brooklyn Opera House. The musical showdowns features two talented pianists who go head-to-head, playing all the audience’s requests. Tickets are available at brooklynoperahouse.com. Brooklyn Opera House is located at 115 Jackson St. in Brooklyn.

Victor Public Library will celebrate National Aviation Month with Come Fly With Me, an open house event, from 10-11 a.m. John and Dee Tibben will share photos, memorabilia and stories about their flying experiences. The library is located at 710 Second St. in Victor.
Wednesday, Nov. 27
UnityPoint Health-Grinnell Regional Medical Center is partnering with LifeServe Blood Center to host a blood drive 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. GRMC’s Tomasek Conference Room on the first floor of the medical center in Grinnell. Donors should enter through the main entrance, located on the south side of the building at 210 Fourth Avenue, and follow posted signs to the Tomasek Conference Room. All donors should be in overall good health and are encouraged to be rested and well-nourished at the time of donation. Masks are encouraged during respiratory illness season.
Jake Simon and Blake Jack will perform at Brooklyn Opera House. "Small-town road warrior" Simon, originally from Central Iowa, made his debut to country radio with "I Still Think About You" hitting the Top 40 single on the Music Row Country Breakout chart. Following Simon, Blake Jack + South 35 will take the stage. Together they are a high-energy party band that plays mostly country cover tunes but brings the feeling of a rock concert. Marengo will host a Thanksgiving Community Dinner from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the American Legion Hall, 1669 Court Ave. in Marengo. Sponsored by the Marengo Ministerial Alliance, the meal is available for a donation. Walk-ins are welcome, but reservations will help organizers know how many meals to prepare.
