UnityPoint Health-Grinnell Regional Medical Center is partnering with LifeServe Blood Center to host a blood drive from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at GRMC’s Tomasek Conference Room on the first floor of the medical center in Grinnell. Donors should enter through the main entrance, located on the south side of the building at 210 Fourth Avenue, and follow posted signs to the Tomasek Conference Room. All donors should be in overall good health and are encouraged to be rested and well-nourished at the time of donation. Masks are encouraged during respiratory illness season.

Marengo will host a Thanksgiving Community Dinner from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the American Legion Hall, 1669 Court Ave. in Marengo. Sponsored by the Marengo Ministerial Alliance, the meal is available for a donation. Walk-ins are welcome, but reservations will help organizers know how many meals to prepare. The Festival of Trees will be on display at Hope Lodge 175, 805 11th Street in Belle Plaine, from 3-7 p.m. The Wallace & Beverly Winkie Foundation sponsors of the festival. Trees are decorated by local businesses, organizations and families. Visitors may vote for their favorite trees and bid on trees and auction items. The event is free.
Amana’s Tannenbaum Forest is open from noon to 7 p.m. Santa will be on hand from 1-6 p.m. Admission is free but donations are welcome All proceeds will support the University of Iowa Stead Family Children’s Hospital and local nonprofits. Tannenbaum Forest is located at 4707 220th Trail in Amana. The building is not heated, so dress appropriately.
Saturday, Nov. 30
Victor Area Historical Association will have its annual meeting beginning at 9 a.m. in the Victor Public Library. All who are interested in continuing the business of this organization are welcome.
The Marengo Craft and Vendor Show will take place from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Marengo Legion Hall, 1669 Court Ave. in Marengo. Admission and parking are free. Shoppers can buy lunch as well as wooden flags, rocks and resin, beaded jewelry, baked goods, artwork, quilts, woodworking, chain saw carvings, fabric, kitchen items, stained glass and other products.

“A Swingin’ Christmas” liven up the Amana Performing Arts Center at 2 p.m. “A Swingin’ Christmas” features Rod Pierson’s Big Band and Craig Boche at the Mic, with a special guest appearance by Justin Roberts from KCRG-TV9 on the keys. Deb Kennedy, of TKM Theatrical Productions, might even grace the audience with a song. The Amana Performing Arts Center is located at 39 38th Ave. in Amana.
