Wednesday, Dec. 18
Compass Memorial Healthcare will be caroling in North English beginning at 5:30 p.m. The wagon will travel the streets of Amana, and Santa will stop to give gifts to children along the random route.
The Keokuk County Historical Society is open Wednesdays and Thursdays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. except for the weeks of Christmas and New Year’s. Arrangements for visiting other days can be arranged by calling 641-622-3005 and leaving a message.
Local musicians Peggy Wardenburg and Karin Malloy will perform festive Christmas music by the fireplace from 11 a.m. to noon at Williamsburg Public Library, 300 W. State Street. This free concert series, held on the library's upper level, offers an opportunity for people to relax and soak in the holiday spirit. Amana’s Tannenbaum Forest is open from noon to 7 p.m. Admission is free but donations welcome All proceeds will support the University of Iowa Stead Family Children’s Hospital and local non-profits. Tannenbaum Forest is located at 4707 220th Trail in Amana. The building is not heated, so dress appropriately.
The King Theater in Belle Plaine will show “The Best Christmas Pageant Ever” at 7 p.m. Doors open 45 minutes before showtime. The theater is located at 720 12th St. in Belle Plaine’s downtown.

Champion Hill United Methodist Church will conduct a Christmas Eve service at 4 p.m. The service will include special steel drum music and vocals by the Mitch and Betsy Frazier family and special viola music. Refreshments will be served. The 164-year-old country church is located at 3132 TT Ave. in rural North English.
