Expo announces beef winners

SIGOURNEY — The 2024 4-H and FFA Beef Show was held July 20 at the Keokuk County Expo Fair.
Purple and blue ribbons were awarded in the Beef Halter classes to Madelyn Sieren, Clara Fry, Taylor Woods, Jayde Snakenberg, Sawyer Cason, Mason Clarahan, Brooks Clarahan, Colt Reed, Ashtyn Tish, Amelia Phillips, Cael O'Rourke, Tierney Greiner, Kearney Greiner, Stephen Jacobs, Jake Clarahan, Noah Gent, Dayne Chittick, Nora Bayliss and Addalee Chittick.
Also to Eli Snakenberg, Delayna Danner, Madison Fry, Cole Millikin, Owen Mather, Edie Axmear, Hunter Sieren, Quinton Wehr, Finley Achenbach, Molly Collins, Addison Achenbach, Hailey Pedrick, MaKenna Morrison, Michelle Jacobs, Aubrey Achenbach, Greenlee Kitzman, Neela Thompson, Abigail Tish, Levi Voyles, Reid Danner, Aspen Sieren, Emerson Snakenberg, Lane Cason and Kylie Kier.
Mason Clarahan, of Sigourney FFA, showed the champion foundation Simmental heifer, and Clara Fry, of Marengo FFA, showed the reserve champion foundation Simmental heifer.
The overall champion return bucket calf belonged to Reid Danner, of the Riverside 4-H Club.
Greenlee Kitzman, with Stick-to-It 4-H Club, won the overall reserve champion return bucked calf.
Maddie Sieren, of the Liberty Leaders 4-H Club, won champion return rate of gain, and Reid Danner, of Riverside 4-H Club, showed the reserve champion.
The top five return calf rate of gain were won by Madelyn Sieren, Reid Danner, Molly Collins, Levi Voyles and Kylee Kier. The top five carcass return calves were shown by Reid Danner, Molly Collins, Madelyn Sieren, Kylee Kier and Levi Voyles.
Cole Millikin, of Patriotic Panthers 4-H Club, won champion no-fit market heifer, and reserve champion market heifer went to Owen Mather, of the Liberty Leaders.
