FFA sends four to districts

OSKALOOSA -- Marengo FFA competed in 11 different leadership development contests during the FFA Subdistrict Convention at Oskaloosa High School Feb 19. Four contests advanced to districts and two were named alternates.

Leadership Development Events help students develop the abilities to think critically, communicate clearly and perform effectively in a competitive job market. Some events allow students to compete as individuals, while others allow them to compete in teams.

Results

Chapter Program of Activities: Kathryn Kilgard, Brooklyn Kilgard and Lola Frimml. Earned gold, 1st place, advanced to district contest.

Creed Speaking: Delaney Stubblefield. Earned gold, 1st place, advanced to district contest.

Manual Quiz: Hayden Kanke. Earned gold, 1st place, advanced to district contest.

Job Interview: Stella Sayers. Earned gold, alternate to district contest.

Extemporaneous Speaking: Shayla Helgeson. Earned gold, advanced to district contest.

Sales: Aslyn Truempler, Earned silver, alternate to district contest.

Ag Broadcast: Carli Kanke. Earned silver.

Welding Team: Grace Schlak and Mason Altenhofen. Earned silver/bronze rating.

Public Speaking: Alannah McKibben. Earned bronze.

Parliamentary Procedure: Jackson Slaymaker, Michaela Schachtlie, Caleb Achey, Avary Helmrichs, and Ashton Mattison. Earned bronze.

Conduct of Meetings: Caden Smith, Elijah Lillie, Kennedy Theisen, Sherra Bonnichsen, Elijah Pritchard, Gavin Johnson and Will Sayers. Earned bronze.
