Fortnightly club learns about library

NORTH ENGLISH — Annette Shannahan, Fortnightly member and librarian, discussed programs she’s running at the library during this month’s Fortnightly meeting.
Shannahan also gave facts and figures of the inventory currently in the library.
The October meeting of the North English Fortnightly Women’s Club was held Oct. 9 in the North English Library. Amy Andreassen called the meeting to order and 23 members in attendance and responded to the question, “What is your favorite book?”
Carol Montz was absent and therefore no meditation was shared.
Treasurer Kathy Huber reported a balance of $983.13 Sept. 11. Following a deposit of $282 from dues and donations and $85.10 spent for printing of booklets, the balance as of Oct. 9 was $1,180.03.
Katie Taukei commented on already receiving Valentines that the club will share in February.
Annette presented the news flash, explaining the use of AI in libraries.
Trish commented on how blessed our library is to have had such a generous donation from the Harold and Margaret Ann Greenlee estate, which was used to purchase, expand and remodel the library.
Following the meeting, members walked next door to the newly refurbished Main Street Pub and Grub for a meal.
