The North English Fortnightly Women’s Club met Sept. 11. Tammy Stanerson and Mary Glaspie were hostesses.
Deb Fritz presented the program. She shared a bit about herself and her business and led members through a session of chair yoga.
Amy Andreassen invited Tami Marsh to share Meditation. Andreassen read “Why English is Hard to Learn” and a “September” poem.
The 17 members in attendance shared their favorite memories of Linda Lee.
Tara Heyne then read the minutes from the May meeting. Kathy Huber gave the treasurer’s report which showed a starting balance of $1,188.13.
Revenues from dues and donations totaled $295. Expenses for speakers and donations to North English Fun Days, History Center and English Valleys FFA flowers totaled $500 bringing the ending balance to $983.13.
Sue Mertz shared the News Flash by mentioning the new business in town, The Main Street Pub and Grub. She also mentioned the flooding they had received in Washington, Iowa over the summer.
Sarah Ernst reported that mini pumpkins provided by Bonnie Romine were available near the door for anyone who would like some. She said the October meeting will begin at 6 p.m. at the North English Library. Members should RSVP to Bonnie by Oct. 5.
