Fuel prices fall in first week of June

DES MOINES — The price of regular unleaded gasoline fell four cents last week, averaging $3.23 across Iowa, according to AAA.
The price of global crude oil fell on the West Texas Intermediate by $5.66 per barrel over the previous week to $74.09.
Brent crude oil fell by $5.77 to $78.37.
One year ago, WTI crude sold for $72.15 and Brent crude was at $76.61.
As of last Wednesday, the price of regular unleaded gasoline averaged $3.23 across Iowa according to AAA.
Prices fell four cents from a week ago and are down 12 cents from a year ago.
The national average Wednesday was $3.50, down eight cents from the previous week.
Diesel
Retail diesel prices in Iowa fell four cents last week with a statewide average of $3.54.
One year ago, diesel prices averaged $3.67 in Iowa.
The current Iowa diesel price is 30 cents lower than the national average of $3.84.
Wholesale ethanol held steady at $2.16.
The current Des Moines Terminal/Rack Prices last week were $2.16 for U87-E10, $2.46 for Unleaded 87 (clear), $2.23 for ULSD#2, $2.48 for ULSD#1, and $2.02 per gallon for E-70 prices.
Heating Fuels
Natural gas prices rose two cents at the Henry Hub reporting site to $2.73/MMbtu.
