Fuel prices rise in mid June

DES MOINES — The price of regular unleaded gasoline rose three cents the week of June 19, averaging $3.18 across Iowa, according to AAA.
The price of global crude oil rose on the West Texas Intermediate by $3.43 per barrel to $81.63.
Brent crude oil fell by $. 94 to $81.40.
One year ago, WTI crude sold for $70.50, and Brent crude was at $76.09.
Last week’s price of $3.18 for regular unleaded gasoline was up three cents from the prior week but down 12 cents from a year ago.
The national average last Wednesday was $3.45, steady from previous week.
•Retail diesel prices in Iowa rose three cents with a statewide average of $3.52.
One year ago, diesel prices averaged $3.61 in Iowa.
The current Iowa diesel price is 28 cents lower than the national average of $3.80.
Wholesale ethanol held steady and was priced at $2.16 last week.
The Des Moines Terminal/Rack Prices were $2.31 for U87-E10, $2.59 for Unleaded 87 (clear), $2.47 for ULSD#2, $2.72 for ULSD#1, and $2.19 per gallon for E-70 prices.
Heating fuels
Natural gas prices fell 13 cents at the Henry Hub reporting site to $2.88/mmBtu.
