Girls finish 2nd in golf meet
OSKALOOSA — The Williamsburg girls’ golf team finished second by one stroke at the Class 3A Regional Wednesday, May 15, at Edmundson Golf Course in Oskaloosa.
Clear Creek Amana won with 362 strokes, and the Raiders were one back with 363.
Both teams advance to the 3A state tournament Thursday, May 23, and Friday, May 24, at Pheasant Ridge Golf Course in Cedar Falls.
Senior Jaisel Bott and freshman Rubianne Allison finished tied for runner-up medalist with an 86. Also scoring for the Raiders were sophomore Jenna Yearian (95) and senior Julianne Miller (96).
Williamsburg returns to state golf for the first time since 2022, when it capped a run of four straight trips as a Class 2A school.

Raiders girls lose to 10-0 Nevada
Williamsburg girls’ soccer won their Class 1A Region 5 opener over Fairfield 2-0 May 13 but were upended by No. 7 Nevada 10-0 May 15 in Nevada.
Against the Trojans, freshman Josey Mize and senior Caitlyn Cronbaugh scored the goals. Junior London Cook recorded the shutout in goal. Fairfield finished 2-12.
The Cubs (12-5) scored eight first-half goals on the way to the win. Williamsburg closed 5-12.
Raiders lose season opener
Williamsburg lost its season-opener in baseball, 12-2, to No. 2 (2A) West Marshall in six innings, Monday, May 13, at Schilling Field.
West Marshall pitcher Grayson Shaver was in control, limiting the Raiders to seven hits and striking out eight. Carson Grier had a double to pace the Williamsburg offense.
