Girls third at Muskie Invite

MUSCATINE — Williamsburg’s girls swimming team scored 229 points to place third in the Muskie Invite Saturday, Sept. 2, at Muscatine.
The host Muskie’s won the meet with 431 points and Burlington finished second with 393. Cadar Rapids Kennedy (151), Tipton (67) and Keokuk (33) rounded out the field.
Numerous third-place swims highlighted the day for coach Mindy Wuebker’s Raiders, including that by the 200 yard medley relay team of Caitlyn Cronbaugh, Elizabeth Stohlmann, Gwen Yearian and Olivia Kelting (2:12.47), and 200 yard freestyle relay team of Kelting, Cronbaugh, Kya Dobesh and Laura Carrico (1:54.52)
Carrico, Yearian and Cronbaugh also finished third, respectively, in the 50 yard freestyle, 100 yard butterfly and 200 yard individual medley (: 27.51, 1:14.35 and 2:39.01).
Fifth places went to Kelting in the 50 yard freestyle (28,50) and Cronbaugh in the 100 yard backstroke (1:12.56).
