Golf tourney to benefit Montezuma wrestling program

BARNES CITY -- Siraj Thomason, owner of the Longhorn Saloon in Barnes City, is sponsoring a four-person best shot golf tournament benefiting the Montezuma Braves wrestling program.
The tournament is slated for Saturday, June 21 at the Montezuma Country Club.
Tee time is 9 a.m.
Proceeds from the tournament will be used to purchase championship round singlets and warm up gear for the team.
The pool will be open for the public during the event. Karaoke, games and prizes will be awarded. A raffle is also slated for the event.
Tech fall sponsorships are available for $250, and takedown sponsorships are available for $100. All sponsors will receive a T-shirt.

A concert gets underway at 7 p.m. at hole 1 with Unknown, a local band comprised of Montezuma high school students and Montezuma recording artist Cody Hicks.
Tickets for the concert are $10.
Thomason has been hosting golf tournaments for several years. Last year, he hosted a “Wave Fore the Kids” tournament for the University of Iowa Stead Family Children’s Hospital for Kids.
