Grinnell hospital welcomes diabetic educator

GRINNELL — UnityPoint Health-Grinnell announced this week that Taylor Gersdorf is its new diabetic educator.

Gersdorf will work out of the Grinnell Diabetes and Nutrition Education Clinic at 122 Fourth Ave. in Grinnell.

Gersdorf has extensive experience in various areas of nursing, according to a press release from UnityPoint Health. She received her registered nurse license from Marshalltown Community College and earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from the University of Iowa.

Gersdorf has worked in medical-surgical units, special care units, family practice clinics and long-term care facilities. These diverse roles have enabled Gersdorf to build meaningful relationships with patients, including those managing diabetes, said UnityPoint.
