Grinnell nurse makes Great Iowa Nurses list

GRINNELL -- Kim Sears, clinical education specialist and staff development coordinator at Grinnell Regional Medical Center has been named to the 2024 Great Iowa Nurses List.
This prestigious award annually recognizes nurses at healthcare organizations across the state for their outstanding contributions to their patients, team members and the nursing profession, said UnityPoint Health-Grinnell Regional in a new release.
Sears began her healthcare career at GRMC in 2001 where she has been influential in the growth and changes that have taken place. the hospital said.
Sears was the first GRMC ED admitting clerk and the first patient care technician in the GRMC intensive care unit.
After obtaining her registered nurse degree, Sears provided in-patient care for 17 years in medical and surgical, intensive care and emergency and as house supervisor.
For the past two years, Sears has served as clinical education specialist and staff development coordinator.
Great Iowa Nurses annually accepts nominations for Iowa-licensed nurses who have made a significant contribution to the profession. The 2024 award recipients will be honored during a virtual recognition ceremony this spring.
