Heart of Iowa Democrats launch four-part climate change series
Apr. 13, 2023 4:49 pm
The Heart of Iowa Democrats will host “Earth to Iowa!”, a four-part weekly series covering different aspects of climate change. Experts from across the state will speak on a range of topics, including water and air pollution, effects of climate change on soil, and how all of this is already impacting and will further change Iowa's ability to grow healthy food.
The series will kickoff on Wednesday, April 19, at 7 p.m. with “What’s in Your Water?” Panelists will include Silvia Secchi, professor, Department of Geographical and Sustainability Science at the University of Iowa, Carolyn Raffensperger, executive director of the Science and Environmental Health Network, and Alicia Vasto, Water Program Director at the Iowa Environmental Council.
