HLV basketball loses to ranked Lynnville Sully

The HLV boys baskeball team lost to No. 10 Lynnville-Sully Friday, Jan. 19, 54-29, dropping to 4-7 overall.

Peyton Roth had nine points and six rebounds. Ethan Licht also had nine points. HLV trailed just 15-11 at halftime.

The HLV game against Belle Plaine set for Thursday, Jan. 18 was rescheduled for Feb. 6.

The HLV girls lost to No. 11 Lynnville-Sully 58-25 Friday, Jan. 19. Stats were not available.

The girls game with Belle Plaine scheduled for Thursday, Jan. 18, was postponed.

HLV boys wrestling had two champions at the North Tama Tournament Saturday, Jan. 20. The Warriors placed fifth at the seven-team event.

Brody Sternhagen (150) won four matches, all by pin. Cole Fontinel (215) won three matches, all by pin. Max Henstorf (165) was runner-up.

A quadrangular with Belle Plaine, Moravia and Sigourney at HLV set for Thursday, Jan. 18, was postponed.
