HLV girls defeat BGM

HLV’s girls opened the Class 1A basketball postseason with a 58-26 win over BGM Thursday, Feb. 7.

HLV (10-9) was scheduled to play North Tama (10-10) Tuesday, Feb. 13, in Victor.

The Warriors closed the regular seaosn with a 65-26 win at Belle Plaine on Tuesday, Feb. 6. Aaliyah Cooper scored 14 points, followed by Ayla Hall with 13, Addy Shaull with 12 and Mckenzie Kempf with 11.

No stats were reported for the BGM game.

In boys action, HLV closed the regular season with a 62-42 victory over Cedar Valley Christian Feb. 5, and a 64-55 loss at Belle Plaine Feb. 6.

Against CVC, Peyton Roth had 37 points, including five 3-pointers, for the Warriors.

HLV (5-15) opened Class 1A postseason play Monday, Feb. 12 with a trip to Gladbrook-Reinbeck (17-5).
