House drafts most bills since 2001

The weather this week has been a blessing, and [I] hope you can enjoy it.
We debated bills every day this week, including 12 bills today (March 13). Eleven of these originated in the House, and one came over from the Senate.
For the week, we probably debated 40-some. This year has been the highest number of bills drafted since 2001.
As of today (March 13), 961 have been read into the House chamber by our Chief Clerk Meghan Nelson, and so we’re in the process of caucusing and debating on which would be best for Iowans.
