MARENGO — Eli Benjamin Grimm, 22, of North English, was charged April 17 in Iowa County District Court with driving while his license is denied, suspended, canceled or revoked.
The Iowa County Sheriff’s Office stopped Grimm at 325th St. and G Avenue about 11:30 a.m. April 17.
Brandon Mark Williamson, 43, of South Amana, was charged April 21 with driving while his license is denied, suspended, canceled or revoked. He was stopped on Court Street by Williamsburg police about 11:20 p.m. April 18.
Williamson was also charged with operating a vehicle while under the influence, first offense. A preliminary breath test showed that Williamson had a blood alcohol content of more that the level limit of 0.8, according to a report filed with the court.
Austin Richard Welch, 15, of Millersburg, was charged with driving while his license is denied, suspended, canceled or revoked. Williamsburg police arrested Welch about 4:04 p.m. April 21.
Jane Ellen Waline, 50, of Victor, was charged April 19 with operating a vehicle while under the influence, first offense. She was arrested by the Iowa County Sheriff’s Office about 8:27 p.m. April 18 at Sixth and Washington St. in Victor.
According to a court document, a deputy followed the Waline to a residence and asked about a report she made in Poweshiek County. Waline’s speech was slurred and the deputy smelled alcohol, the report says.
A preliminary breath test showed that Waline had a blood alcohol level of 0.183%, the document said, and DataMaster testing showed a BrAC of 0.172%.
Skyler Joseph Moessner, 29, of Marengo, was charged April 20 with assault, obstruction of emergency communication and criminal mischief in the fifth degree.
Iowa County Sheriff’s deputy allege that Moessner had in a verbal altercation with Grant Douglas Blaha at Blaha’s residence, pushed Blaha onto the couch and broke Blaha’s cellphone when Blaha said he was going to call law enforcement.
Moessner pleaded guilty to all three counts and was fined $105 plus court costs for each count, according to court filings.
Matthew Michael Hopkins, 33, of North English, was charged April 22 with harassment in the third degree. According to a report filed by the Iowa County Sheriff’s Office, Hopkins texted Mickayla Rennea Kerr asking her to drop criminal charge in a court case involving Hopkin’s brother, Jason Hopkins.
Kerr had texted Jason Hopkins in March saying she didn’t want anyone from his family contacting her, according to a report filed by the Iowa County Sheriff’s Office.
Jason Hopkins was charged April 8 with burglary in the third degree for allegedly taking Kerr’s debit card out of her car sometime between March 2 and March 7, and making multiple cash withdrawals at Midwest One back in North English totaling $900.
Jason Hopkins was also charged April 13 with theft in the first degree for allegedly taking jewelry and precious metals in excess of $10,000 from Michael Elwood’s resident in North English between Feb. 1 and Feb. 28, according to court documents.
