MARENGO — Cory Tyler Krizer, 39, of Delta, was charged May 6 in Iowa County District Court with possession of a weapon in a correctional institution.
The Iowa County Sheriff’s Department alleges that Krizer wore a bracelet that concealed a small knife when he was taken into the Iowa County Jail in Marengo about 11:45 a.m. May 6.
According to a document filed with the court, Krizer had been patted down and asked before he was taken into the jail if he had any weapons, and he said no.
A jailer discovered the knife when the bracelet was removed from Krizer at the jail, the court document says.
Lyle David Campbell Jr., 51, of Williamsburg, was charge May 4 with operating a vehicle while under the influence, first offense.
According to court documents filed by the Iowa County Sheriff’s Department, Campbell was arrested after midnight May 4 at IA 220 E and 220th Trail and U.S. 151 north after being involved in an accident.
When an officer arrived, the vehicle was running, and Campbell was in the driver’s seat, according to the report filed with the court.
The officer says he smelled alcohol on Campbell and that Campbell had watery, bloodshot eyes and slurred speech and was unsteady on his feet.
Campbell refused a sobriety test and refused breath test both at the scene and at the jail, the sheriff’s report says.
Anna Danica Ashburn, 47, of Williamsburg, was charged April 30 with possession of drug paraphernalia and interference with official acts.
According to court documents, the Williamsburg Police Department arrived at 903 North St. in Williamsburg about 4:15 p.m. April 29 for a possible domestic dispute.
The officer who responded heard arguing and entered the home, according to the report filed with the court. He found a man walking downstairs to the main floor. The man said he lived with Ashburn.
Ashburn walked in from the garage, the report says, and the officer smelled marijuana. Ashburn had a small bruise on the of her right eye, and the officer requested an ambulance, court documents say.
While talking with the officer, Ashburn struck him on the chest with her hand, the report says. When the ambulance arrived, Ashburn kicked at one of the first responders.
An officer found a glass bong and an ashtray with what appeared to be marijuana on the coffee table in the living room, court documents say.
Ashburn pleaded not guilty and was released without bond. A non-jury trial is scheduled for Sept. 2 at 9:30 a.m.
Ashburn was also charged with possession of a controlled substance, marijuana, first offense and with assault on person in certain occupations.
John Robert George, 51, of Marengo, was charged May 2 with violation of a no contact order.
According to Marengo police, George sent a text to his daughter in violation of a no contact order issued March 16.
George pleaded not guilty and was released without bond. A non-jury trial is set for 10 a.m. July 15.
Juan Arriaga, 36, of Williamsburg, was charged May 4 with public intoxication.
According to court documents filed by Williamsburg police, a man was reported walking around the parking lot of an apartment complex near East Street about 7 p.m. May 4. He allegedly leaned against some storage units to urinate.
An officer located Arriaga, who match the description witnesses gave, in a parking lot at 605 Washington Street. According to documents filed with the court, Arriaga exhibited signs of intoxication and told police he had consumed about eight alcoholic beverages in a three-hour period while sitting in the parking lot.
A preliminary breath test recorded a blood-alcohol level above .08, the police report says.
Derrick James Mahan, 48, of Marengo, was charged May 1 with domestic abuse.
According to a report filed with the court, Marengo police investigated a report of a domestic disturbance about 1:48 a.m. May 1 at 508 W. Washington St.
Police say that Mahan and Jessica Marie Caskey, who have lived together 12 or 13 years, got into an argument after leaving a bar. The argument became physical.
Mahan fled, but returned about 6:55 a.m. and continued screaming at Caskey.
According to a report filed with the court, Caskey had red marks on her face and arms.
The court issued a no-contact order May 2.
