MARENGO — Cory Tyler Krizer, 39, of Delta, was charged May 7 in Iowa County District Court with driving while his license is denied, suspended, canceled or revoked.
The Iowa County Sheriff’s Department stopped Krizer about 10:55 a.m. May 6 in the 1000 block of 220th Street. Krizer pleaded not guilty. A non-jury trial is set for Oct. 7 at 9:30 a.m.
Joseph Edward Alderman, 56, of Cedar Rapids, was charged May 7 with driving while his license is denied, suspended, canceled or revoked.
The Iowa County Sheriff’s Department stopped Alderman about 3:38 a.m. May 6 at Iowa 220 east and G Street.
Autumn Morrow was charged May 8 with compulsory education violation, first offense, for failure to cause her child to attend English Valleys High School.
Shane Van Dee was charged May 8 with compulsory education violation, first offense, for failure to cause his child to attend English Valleys Elementary School.
Brandy Van Dee was charged May 8 with compulsory education violation, first offense, for failure to cause her child to attend English Valleys Elementary School.
Taylor Lanea Johnson, 28, of Rose Hill, was charged May 10 with possession of drug paraphernalia. An Iowa County Sheriff’s deputy met with Johnson about 7:25 a.m. May 5 in a parking lot at 1655 M Ave. Marengo while investigating a suspicious vehicle.
Johnson was the front passenger in the vehicle, according to a document filed with the court. The deputy smelled marijuana and searched the vehicle, the document says.
The deputy found a backpack on the passenger floor which contained a chewing tobacco tin with plant material that later tested positive for marijuana, the sheriff’s report says.
The deputy also found a hypodermic needle that appeared to have been used for narcotics and a metal, “one-hitter” pipe with burned marijuana residue, the court report says.
Next to the front passenger’s seat was a glass pipe with white powder residue that tested positive for methamphetamine, according to the deputy’s report.
Johnson was also charged with possession of a controlled substance, marijuana, first offense and with possession of a controlled substance, methamphetamine, first offense.
