MARENGO — Jason Michael Stratton, 38, of Amana, was charged Sept. 25 with domestic abuse, impeding air flow, a Class D felony.
According to a report filed with the court by the Iowa County Sheriff’s Department, Stratton and his wife got into an altercation about 7:15 a.m. Sept. 24. Stratton’s wife told deputies that Stratton grabbed her by the neck during the altercation and she couldn’t breathe for a moment, the report says.
A no-contact order was issued Sept. 25.
Johnathan Blake Hemann, 22, of Cedar Rapids, was charged Sept. 26 with criminal mischief in the second degree, a Class D felony.
According to a sheriff’s report, Hemann kicked in a double door at 224 U Ave. in Williamsburg about 6:23 p.m. Aug. 27 with the assistance of a juvenile.
The juvenile was also charged, the report says.
Hemann denied entering the property, the court document says. Damage was assessed at $3,890.
Hemann was also cited for trespassing.
Salas Sanchez Evandro, 28, of Iowa City, was charged Sept. 24 with driving while his license was denied, suspended, canceled or revoked.
Marengo police arrested Evandro 2205 Highway 6 Trail in Marengo Sept. 3 at 2 p.m., according to a document filed with the court.
Christopher Michael Radetzki, 34, of Ladora, was charged Sept. 25 with driving while his license is denied, suspended, canceled or revoked. He was cited by the Iowa County Sheriff’s Department about 9:44 a.m. Sept. 25 at J Avenue and 240th Street, according to a court document.
Radetzki was also cited for failure to provide proof of insurance following an accident.
Dimagis M. Franco Maiz, 24, of Marengo, was charged Sept. 24 with public intoxication.
The Iowa County Sheriff’s Department was asked to check on the welfare of a woman who appeared to be in distress walking on the side of Highway 6 about 1:40 a.m. Sept. 24, according to a document filed with the court.
Maiz declined to have a sober person picked her up and declined to go to the hospital for evaluation, according to the court report. Her blood alcohol content was 0.131%, the report said.
Dustin Leon Landuyt, 31, of Marengo, was charged Sept. 25 with disorderly conduct, criminal mischief in the fifth degree and harassment in the third degree.
Marengo police say Landuyt got into a shouting match with Fred Miller on the street at 1042 Marengo Ave. When Miller left, Landuyt defaced the rear window of Miller’s car. Landuyt said it was a prank, according to the police report.
A non-jury trial is set for 9:30 a.m. Nov. 4.
Alijah Ray Guntes, of Muscatine, was charged Oct. 1 with possession of alcohol by a person under the age of 21. According a report filed with the court, Guntes was a passenger in a vehicle that had been stopped for an equipment violation. Officers found a 30-pcack of Busch Light in the floor of the passenger’s side where Guntes was seated.
Officers also found four Fireball shooters in the vehicle, the report says.
