MARENGO -- Steven Ray Knapp, 55, of South English, was charged Oct. 11 in Iowa County District Court with driving while barred.
A deputy with the Iowa County Sheriff’s Department recognized Knapp as the driver of a vehicle he met while on patrol on 323rd Street near Q Avenue about 7:30 a.m. Oct. 11 and knew Knapp was barred from driving, according to the criminal complaint filed with the court.
Knapp is barred from Dec. 18, 2022 until Dec. 16, 2025 for being a habitual violator, the document says.
Julienne Butoto, 41, of Cedar Rapids, was charged Oct. 12 with driving while her license is denied, suspended, canceled or revoked. Butoto was stopped by the Iowa County Sheriff’s Department in the 1000 block of W Avenue Oct. 10 about 6:16 a.m.
Butoto was also cited for speeding and for failure to provide proof of financial liability.
Carolyn Jean Wolfer, 69, of North English, was charged Oct. 8 with violation of a no contact order. Her husband, Gregory Wolfer, 72, was also charged with violation of a no contact order.
According to a report filed with the court, a deputy with the Iowa County Sheriff’s Department attempted to serve a warrant for violation of a protective order at 215 N. Howard in North English about 5:04 p.m. Oct. 7 and found Carolyn and Gregory Wolfer residing in the same home together with the protected party. Both were taken into custody.
Non-jury trials are set for 9:30 a.m. Dec. 2 for Carolyn Wolfer and 9:30 a.m. Dec. 16 for Gregory Wolfer.
