MARENGO — An application was filed in Iowa County District Court Oct. 27 to modify the sex offender registration requirements for Robert William Hulseberg, 75, of Williamsburg. A hearing is set for 1:30 p.m. Jan. 20, 2026.
Nolan Ray Regan, 23, of Belle Plaine, was charged Oct. 23 with driving while his license is under suspension. He was also charged with operating a motor vehicle while under the influence, first offense.
The Iowa State Patrol investigated a single vehicle accident involving Regan about 1:15 a.m. Oct. 19 on U.S. Highway 6, according to the criminal complaint filed with the court.
When the State Patrol arrived at the scene of the accident, the Hundai Santa Fe Regan had been driving was on its side, and Regan was sitting in the vehicle of a driver who had stopped to help, according to the court document.
The trooper reported that Regan had been driving from Denny’s back to Belle Plaine when his car left the roadway. The trooper smelled alcohol on Regan’s breath, the report says, and a breath test showed that Regan had a blood alcohol content of 0.108.
Regan pleaded not guilty. A non-jury trial is set for 9:30 a.m. March 17, 2026.
Richard Lloyd Stanek, 54, of Millersburg, was charged Oct. 25 with driving while his license was denied, suspended, canceled or revoke.
Williamsburg police stopped Stanek about 1:50 a.m., Oct. 25 on Iowa Highway 149.
Alfonso L. Servin, 37, of Colona, Illinois, was charged Oct. 22 with operating a motor vehicle under the influence, second offense.
The Iowa County Sheriff’s Department stopped Servin just after midnight Oct. 19 at 290th St. and M Avenue. The deputy smelled alcohol on Servin, according to a report filed with the court.
Servin refused a preliminary breath test, the report said. He consented to a test at the Iowa County Jail where his blood alcohol level registered 0.244, according to the deputy’s report.
Servin has a previous OWI conviction in Scott County from Sept. 16, 2025.
Grace Elise Morrison, 21, of Iowa City, was charged Oct. 22 with theft in the fifth degree.
According to a report filed by the Iowa County Sheriff’s Department, Donald Morrison said he left his cellphone at his place of business, 4709 220th Trail in Amana, and Grace Morrison used his phone about 4 p.m. July 29 to send $300 from his Venmo account to hers without his permission.
Navarre Edward Sissel, 27, of Marengo, was charged Oct. 24 with harassment in the third degree. According to Marengo police, Sissel contacted former co-worker Selina Whitler at Rose Haven Nursing Home about 6 p.m. Oct. 23 after having been let go from Rose Haven in August 2025 and told not to return.
According to the report filed with the court, Sissel made contact with Whitler at the nursing home and tried to give her a note.
Sissel pleaded not guilty, and a non-jury trial was set for 9:30 a.m. Dec. 16.
A no contact order was issued Oct. 24.
Niah Celina Koenig, 41, of Marengo was charged Oct. 24 with violation of a no contact order.
According to a report filed with the court by the Iowa County Sheriff’s Department, Koenig went to 1744 L Ave., Marengo about 9:21 a.m. Oct. 24 to collect stored items in a trailer. Koenig is the protected party in a no contact order with Quentin Koenig, the court document says.
Quentin Koenig said Niah Koenig started yelling at him. She was still at the residence when the deputy arrived, the court document says.
Fredrick Ervin Wallace, 32, of University City, Missouri, was charged Oct. 24 with possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of marijuana, first offense, and possession of a dangerous weapon by an ineligible person.
The Iowa State Patrol stopped Wallace on the westbound Interstate-80 ramp to U.S. Highway 151 about 7 a.m. Oct. 24, according to the complaint filed with the court.
The trooper found a THC vape in a backpack in the 2020 Kenworth Wallace was driving, the report says. Wallace said he got it from a dispensary in Missouri and forgot that the backpack was in the vehicle.
The trooper found a loaded 9 mm handgun in the bed of the truck, the report says.
A non-jury trial is set for 9:30 a.m. April 21, 2025. Wallace was released on $2,000 cash bond.
Marcell Haunani Drake, 41, of South English, was charged Oct. 24 with theft in the fourth degree.
According to the Iowa County Sheriff’s Department, Drake, while employed at Casey’s General Store, 504 S. Main in North English, committed a series of thefts by putting money gift cards without paying.
The loss amounted to about $704, according to the court document.
