MARENGO — Mark Kenneth Huber Jr., 39, of Coralville, was charged Dec. 18 in Iowa County District Court with driving while barred.
The Iowa County Sheriff’s Department stopped Huber Dec. 17 at about 4:13 p.m. at Court Avenue and Dillin Street. A preliminary hearing is set for Jan. 17.
Jamal Leetate Killingsworth, 34, of Omaha, Nebraska, was charged Dec. 25 with child endangerment, possession of marijuana, first offense and operating a motor vehicle while under the influence.
The Iowa County Sheriff’s Department stopped Killingsworth about 8:05 p.m. Dec. 24 on the Interstate 80 east ramp to Iowa Highway 149. A report filed with the court alleges that Killingsworth admitted to smoking marijuana while in the presence of his juvenile daughter.
Marijuana was found in the vehicle, the report said.
Jonathan Murray Ramirez, 39, was charged Dec. 26 with a sex offender registration violation. According to a report filed with the court, Ramirez failed to notify authorities that someone had been staying with him for a couple of weeks at his Williamsburg residence.
Ramirez has a conviction from 2021 for lascivious acts with a child. A preliminary hearing was set for Jan. 13.
Charles Fredrick Baetsle, 20, of Brooklyn, was charged Dec. 18 with unlawfully passing a school bus, first offense.
According to a report filed with the court by the Iowa County Sheriff’s Department, Baetsle illegally passed a bus about 7:30 a.m. Dec. 9 at G Avenue and Iowa Street.
Holden Luke Elija Huffman, 23, of Sigourney, was charged Dec. 29 with failure to stop in assured clear distance for an incident that occurred in the 2300 Block of M Avenue Dec. 28 about 4 p.m.
Richard Lloyd Stanek, 54, of Millersburg, was charged Dec. 31 with driving while his license is denied, suspended, canceled or revoked. Williamsburg police stopped Stanek about 2:05 a.m. Dec. 31 on Welsh Street.
Jimmie Charles Trumbull, 41, of Cumberland, Wisconsin was charged Dec. 18 with OWI, first offense.
According to the Iowa County Sheriff’s Department, Trumbull was driving from Clinton to Des Moines Dec. 17 when he drove into a ditch at Garfield and Pacific Streets in Ladora.
The sheriff’s report says that Trumbull exhibited signs of intoxication and had a blood alcohol content of 0.320.
Mitchell Ray Merical, 30, of Victor, was charged Dec. 27 with OWI, first offense. An Iowa County Sheriff’s Deputy stopped Merical at U.S. Highway 6 and Poweshiek/Iowa Road shortly after midnight Dec. 27 for a traffic violation.
According to the sheriff’s report, Merical failed a field sobriety test and had a blood-alcohol content of 0.142.
A preliminary hearing is set for Jan. 16.
Alexander Kyle Armstrong, 20, of Dixon, Illinois, was charged Dec. 21 with contributing to the delinquency of a minor, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of marijuana, first offense.
A non-jury trial is set for April 21 at 9:30 a.m.
According to a report filed by the Iowa County Sheriff’s Department, Armstrong called 911 about 1 a.m. Dec. 21 and reported his 14-year-old brother in respiratory distress. Deputies found Armstrong and the juvenile in the 2400 block of M Avenue outside Williamsburg.
Armstrong admitted smoking THC resin with his brother in the Maverik parking lot, the report filed with the court says. Armstrong was in possession of 3.5 grams of resin and a water pipe with which to consume THC.
Armstrong was released on $1,000 bond.
Stephanie Thompson was charged Dec. 22 with compulsory education violation for failure to make a child attend Mary Welsh Elementary. A non-jury trial is set for Feb. 17.
Alfonzo Bayatah Pratt, 47, of Athens, Ohio, was charged Dec. 21 with possession of marijuana, first offense.
The Iowa State Patrol stopped Pratt about 12:38 p.m. Dec. 20 at Interstate 80 mile marker 219 for not using a seat belt.
A report filed with the court says Pratt had marijuana in his pocket, but none was found in his vehicle.
