MARENGO — Zachary Ryan Barnell, 42, of Grinnell, was charged Jan. 17 in Iowa County District Court with driving while barred.
The Iowa County Sheriff’s Department stopped Barnell about 3:24 p.m. Jan. 16 at Iowa Highway 21 and Iowa Highway 212 for not displaying license plates, according to a report filed with the court.
Danny E. Dietze, 51, of Marengo, was charged Jan. 20 with driving while barred. Marengo police stopped Dietze about 3:36 p.m. Jan. 17 at 2050 Highway 6 Trail for having expired plates, according to a report filed with the court.
Trevor Dean Clemens, 26, of Blairstown, was charged Jan. 17 with eluding — speed more than 25 miles per hour over the limit (a Class D felony) and driving while barred.
According to a report filed by the Iowa County Sheriff’s Department Clemens’ speed exceeded 85 miles per hour on a gravel road with a 50 mile per hour limit about 3:24 a.m. Jan. 17. He was stopped at 325th Street and OO Avenue.
Clemens was also cited for reckless driving, improper registration plate lamp, failure to obey stop sign and yield right of way, failure to maintain control, speeding and failure to provide proof of financial liability.
Richard Lloyd Stanek, 54, of Millersburg, was charged Jan. 14 with driving while his driver’s license is denied, suspended, canceled or revoked. Stanek was stopped by the Iowa County Sheriff’s Department about 11 a.m. Jan. 14 at Main and Broad Streets according to a report filed with the court.
Amber Nicole Thompson, 45, of Victor, was charged Jan. 14 with operating a motor vehicle under the influence, second offense.
According to a report filed by the Iowa County Sheriff’s Department, Thompson struck a legally parked, unoccupied car about 4:09 p.m. Jan. 14 at 706 Fourth Street in Victor. Her blood alcohol content was 0.269, the report says.
Thompson has a previous OWI conviction from August 2015 in Wapello County, according to the Sheriff’s Department.
Thompson was also cited for failure to use safety belts and with failure to maintain control.
Jessica Carrine Waldrep, 38, of Ely, was charged Jan. 17 with OWI, first offense and possession of marijuana, first offense.
Waldrep was stopped for speeding about 9:30 p.m. Jan. 16 in the 2000 block of U.S. Highway 151, according to a report filed by the Iowa County Sheriff’s Department. The deputy found a marijuana pipe, a 7.6-gram package of marijuana bud and two commercially labeled containers of THC wax in the vehicle, the report says.
Waldrep’s blood alcohol content tested at more than the legal limit of 0.08, according to the court document.
Waldrep was also cited for possession of drug paraphernalia and having an open container.
Anna Danica Ashburn, 48, of Oskaloosa, was charged Jan. 14 with domestic assault, first offense.
Williamsburg police were called to a domestic disturbance about 11:37 a.m. Jan. 14 at 903 North St. in Williamsburg. According to police, a witness and the victim, John Jones, said that Ashburn struck Jones multiple times. Jones also had bruising on his right eye from two weeks ago, a police report filed with the court says.
Jones and Ashburn lived together and were in a romantic relationship until two months ago, the report says.
A no contact order was filed Jan. 15.
Tanner Merlyn Mohn, 25, of Iowa City, was charged Jan. 14 with assault. According to a report filed by the Iowa County Sheriff’s Department, Mohr forcefully held his stepsister, a minor, in a way that caused her to be injured, and continued to hurt her after being told to stop.
The incident occurred at 2206 44th Ave. in Homestead about 12:30 a.m. Jan. 11, the court document says.
Brittney Collione Hix, 39, of Williamsburg, was charge Jan. 17 with assault at 3098 GG Ave. According to a report filed by the Iowa County Sheriff’s Department, Hix went to the home of her ex-paramour who invited her into his home. Hix became angry with his new girlfriend, Amy Clark, and hit her repeatedly in the face.
The incident occurred about 5:36 p.m. Dec. 19, the report says.
