Inching closer to postseason

The golf postseason is closely approaching with the South Iowa Cedar League boys tournament and WaMaC boys divisionals May 5. The WaMaC girls divisional will be the following day.
Here is a look at a few area results this week.
English Valleys-North Mahaska dual
NORTH ENGLISH — English Valleys’ Sarah Frederick led the Bears’ girls with a 55 at Knoll Ridge Country Club Monday. North Mahaska won the dual by a score of 211-230.
On the boys’ side, the Bears had the top two individual finishers. Gage Heyne shot a 41 and Tyler Lortz, 43.
Lynnville-Sully triangular
LYNNVILLE — The Montezuma boys shot a team score of 200 at Diamond Trail Golf Club Tuesday in Lynnville.
Freshman Isaiah Wilson led the Braves shooting a 44 on the nine-hole course.
Ethan DesRochers was eighth with a 49.
On the girls’ side, the Bravettes were led by a 54 from freshman Addilyn Ver Meer, who placed fifth. Claire Erselius finished tied for sixth.
Mid-Prairie tournament
KALONA — The Williamsburg girls golf team finished runner-up by two strokes in a 18-hole tournament Friday at Kalona Golf Course.
Mid-Prairie edged the Raiders 379-381.
The Raiders were led by Rubianne Allison, who finished with medalist honors, shooting a 86.
Tiger Tourney
MARENGO — Iowa Valley hosted its 18-hole boys tournament on Friday.
Keota took home the team title with a 324. HLV-TC was second with a 351, Montezuma third at 378 and Iowa Valley fourth with a 380.
Iowa Valley was led by a seventh-place finish from freshman Tyson Kriegel, who shot a 84.
