Iowa County audit report released

Terpstra Hoke and Associates, P.C., Certified Public Accountants, has released an audit report on Iowa County, Iowa.

The county's revenue totaled $26,028,415 for the year ended June 30, 2022, a 15.7 percent increase from the prior year. Expenses for county operations for the year ended June 30, 2022 totaled $21,726,215, a 4.3 percent decrease from the prior year. The significant increase in revenues is due primarily to an increase in state grants related to road and bridge improvement projects, capital contributions from completed farm-to-market road projects, and the opioid abatement settlement.

The auditor reported one finding related to the receipt and expenditure of taxpayer funds. It is found in the Schedule of Findings and Questioned Costs of this report. The county was provided with recommendations to address the finding, which is repeated from the prior year.
